Fall into fall

Arrien and I had an interesting time with our article for this week’s American Observer edition: Fall into fall. (Catchy, huh?)

On Sunday we headed off on an adventure to the Autumn Conservation Festival at the Smithsonian’s Conservation and Research Center…a huge camp-like compound in the Virginia mountains. The weather was perfect for an outdoor family-centered event, but it wasn’t at all what we expected. I guess in retrospect we didn’t even really know what to expect, and hence didn’t have a pre-planned angle. We stayed longer than we anticipated, and I learned things about species I didn’t even know existed, let alone were endangered. Overall it was an educational experience, and I personally wish we had the time to adequately write about everything…but that approach would probably lean more toward P.R than anything else.
